Math 6th Period 1

Curriculum

In 6th grade math, there are  five main standards (goals) which all students are expected to learn by the end of the year. These five standards are:

Understand and use ratios to solve problems

Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division to divide fractions by fractions

Apply and extend previous understandings of arithmetic to algebraic expressions

Solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume

Develop understanding of statistical variability

Homework

Expect homework every night in Math. Students have been asked to still write their homework in their Planners even if they have completed it at school. You will see a check mark next to any homework they have completed, so everyone is aware that homework was assigned. Some families chose to still have homework brought home so they can review together.
